Providing Opportunities to Combat Poverty

Mission Statement

The Ngwabou Institute is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to bring education to orphans and underprivileged children in Africa (Cameroon and Kenya), empower them and overcome socioeconomic insecurity. We seek to secure these children the rights guaranteed to them in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).

Education

In our target areas, children do not have access to any form of education due to lack of resources, geographic isolation, and war-torn communities. The Ngwabou Institute maintains a secure environment to help foster literacy in these places in order to break its students out of this perpetual cycle of desperation.

Nourishment

The Ngwabou Institute supplies daily meals to its students that they would otherwise not have, thereby ensuring that the road to learning is not hindered by famine.

Security

The Ngwabou Institute serves as a safe haven for vulnerable children. As they are often subject to homelessness, abandonment, abuse, and exploitation (human trafficking, sex slavery, child soldiery), a secure location is necessary to contribute actively to education and create a sense of decency in our students’ lives.
